The MLB season is past the All-Star break.

What to know: We’re more than halfway through the 2025 season, and the AL MVP race appears … well in hand? Aaron Judge — last year’s winner — has been this year’s favorite since before Opening Day. As of mid-July, Judge is leading MLB in batting average (.355) and hits (125). He ranks second in home runs with 35 and is also second in RBIs with 81. Simply put, he is the best hitter in baseball. Judge is looking to become the first back-to-back AL MVP winner since Miguel Cabrera won the award in 2012 and 2013.

Another name rising on the board is Cal Raleigh, who put together a remarkable All-Star performance, winning the Home Run Derby and calling the first successful ball-strike challenge in MLB history. Raleigh leads baseball in home runs (38) and RBIs (82).

National League MVP 2025

Shohei Ohtani: -1100 (bet $10 to win $10.91 total)
Pete Crow-Armstrong: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)
Juan Soto: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Kyle Tucker: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
Ketel Marte: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total)
James Wood: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total)
Pete Alonso: +6500 (bet $10 to win $660 total)
Ronald Acuña Jr.: +6500 (bet $10 to win $660 total)
Freddie Freeman: +6500 (bet $10 to win $660 total)
Francisco Lindor: +6500 (bet $10 to win $660 total)

Shohei Ohtani vs. Aaron Judge: Austin Butler on how the two stars are rewriting MLB history

What to know: Shohei Ohtani is in the same boat as Judge, opening the year as the favorite after winning the NL MVP last season. Currently, he is third in MLB in home runs (32) and first in runs scored (91). Presumably, his RBIs would be higher (he only has 60) if he didn’t bat leadoff, meaning he is often up to the plate with no runners in scoring position. Ohtani is looking to win back-to-back NL MVP awards for the first time since Albert Pujols did it in 2008 and 2009. However, he won the AL MVP in 2023 and NL MVP in 2024, making him the first player in MLB history to win MVP back-to-back in each league.
